Join our free 4-day course and recruitment event where you will learn about the important role of a Care Assistant and exciting part they play in the Health & Social Care sector.

During the 4-day course you will get the opportunity to discover more about the role, learn from industry experts, and receive training and interview support to help you in your application.

On the final day of the course you'll have the opportunity to interview with employers that are hiring for Care Assistants right now!

WHO: Young people aged 18-30* who are motivated to work in the social care sector, and ready to start right away! No previous work experience required.

WHEN: Tuesday 18th - Friday 21st January

WHERE: Take part remotely from home using your phone or computer!

STEP 1 - GET READY

  • Once you sign up, we will get in contact with you so please look out for us on your phone or email! During the call, we'll check that you're eligible for the programme (i.e. you're aged 18-30 and ready for a new job) and you can ask any questions you have about the programme or roles available.
  • We'll give you the details for the Taster Day. If you do not have a conversation with someone from The Prince's Trust you will not be fully registered and you will be unable to join the programme.

STEP 2 - GET HIRED

Days 1 - 3 (18th - 20th January):

  • are training based, with talks from employers and industry experts. They will help you gain a thorough understanding of the values and skills needed to work in the sector, and cover important topics such as safeguarding and communication techniques needed to thrive in the workforce.
  • You will also receive tailored support on building a job-relevant CV and learn how to succeed in virtual interview.

On Day 4 (21st January):

  • you are guaranteed an interview with at least one local employer that is hiring right now!
  • Even if you have not been selected, you will get feedback and we'll help to find you other jobs in the area and work with you to get one.

STEP 3 - YOUR CAREER

  • We will continue to support you in all your applications. You will also have access to a dedicated Prince's Trust employability contact to coach you on your journey to employment for up to 6 months.

Don't forget!

  • The programme is eligible for young people aged 18-30 who live within a commutable distance for jobs in the Leeds area.
  • All the sessions will take place online. Ensure you have access to Microsoft Teams on a preferred device (i.e. phone, laptop, tablet)
  • Be prepared to start work immediately. Before you sign up, think about how the current government measures will affect you and the people at home with you.
