About
Do you want a career which makes a difference?
Are you aged 18-30?
We're The Prince's Trust and we want to help.
We have over 40 years of experience helping young people expand the opportunities available for them. We offer young people free courses, grants, and advice to help you find confidence, gain skills, and start a career you love.
On this section, you'll find information about our Health and Social Care courses. If you want information about the other sectors and needs we support, check out our website or social media pages.
Our Health and Social Care courses
The Health and Social Care sector includes pretty much any role you can think of and hundreds of career paths and training opportunities. Our courses are designed to help you learn about the sector and the different roles available to find the right path for you. You'll also find out about live vacancies in your area and meet the employers who are hiring right now. If you want to, you can then apply for a job. Here's how it works:
Step 1: Get ready
We'll provide you with resources to learn about the sector, we'll help you write a CV that will impress employers, and give you training on how to sell yourself in an online interview. This will be mainly via online courses and meetings, and we'll email you resources to read through too.
Step 2: Getting hired
We'll invite you (as part of a group) to a video call with employers in your area who are hiring and they'll explain a bit about what they do. They'll then be available for a one-to-one meeting. As part of participating, you'll be guaranteed at least one interview. If it doesn't work out for any reason, we'll continue skill-building with you after the programme finishes.
Step 3. Starting your career
We'll continue to support you by linking you in with a dedicated Prince's Trust mentor. They'll be available for advice and coaching from the application stage through to the first six months of employment. While this isn't compulsory, we really encourage having a mentor because we've seen that young people who receive support often feel better about transitioning to a new stage in their life.
That's it! Jobhunting to job happy in three steps!
What do you need:
You'll need access to the internet, whether that's via a phone, computer, or tablet. If you don't have access to the internet, let us know and we'll see what we can do.
You'll need to be ready to start a job. If you're not sure whether you're in the right mental or physical space to start anything right now, register and we can have a chat about it.
What you don't need:
Experience - you don't need any qualifications or work experience to come on a course! They're designed to help everyone, regardless of your education or background.
What should you do next?
Register for a course in your area, and we'll get in touch to confirm your eligibility and send you the link for the event.
If there aren't any courses in your area, register your interest on our 'Nothing near you?' event, and we'll be in touch when a course near you opens.
Also, follow us on social media! We love a like. LOCATION
